Wheel Offset question
I have found a set of rims that I like for my ST they come in 2 offsets and I want to know which would be the best compromise for looks vs handling. (yes I am keeping the OEM 16" diameter) and stock tire size. It's a 4x4 with no suspension mods at all
I don't know what the factory offset is.
The 2 rim sizes are:
16X8 5-114.3 25 this has a 25 mm (1") pos offset
16X8 5-114.3 -6 this has a 6mm (1/4") neg offset
I think the negative offset would give my truck a wider footprint on the road but would rubbing of any kind, increased steering wheel kick-back or would any additional stresses be placed on the vehicle's entire suspension?
man i got nothing for ya, I really dont know much about offsets and wha tnot. I do know is that wheel spacers give a wider footprint but several people to include mechanics will say not to widen the wheel to much because it will put some stress on axles and increase wear on the bearings. there is another post on here that talk about wheel spacers, if that might help you.
Looks like I will go with the -6mm offset only.
Here's a few pix of the rims I am considering:

man those look nice, flashy but not too flashing, sweet
Those look nice.
you ever get them rims man?
Those would look nice.
Not yet
I decided to wait a few months & pick up a set of Michelins at the same time. I've got Goodyear Wranglers which really bite!
So I will wait until just before my next roadtrip back to Jersey in September
