Snugtop on and painted! plus more...
Ok... so finally, I picked up my Snugtop cover yesturday at the bodyshop and these people did a beautiful job... perfect color match and clean smooth paint job...

I additionally installed an led strip under the rear bed door... I like the looks.

I should be getting my new black interior headlights by the end of the week... Can't wait to see them on...

I need two suggestions.
1... Should I get rid of the chrome grille and get it painted black?
2... What intensity of HID's should i get for the headlights?

Your plans regarding the headlights and that grill sound exactly like mine. I think you should keep your chrome grill. My truck is dark in color so it would flow much better on my color.

It looks really nice...like the lights under the tailgate.

Just noticed your ST doesn't have the rear electric window. Is that an XLT or a Limited? I've never seen any ST without it. Seems like all the dealers here order them by default.

Looks great!

I'd suggest leaving the grill chrome since you have Limited. There's not much black on them.

I, however, want mine black. There's so much black trim on the XLTs.

Yeah... I actually found that a little weird too... But mine is actually the limited... I think there is a version that doesn't come with the electric window...

Yeah so limited they forgot the window eh?

Looks good. Nice ST.

As for your other questions, it all boils down to what your tastes are. I personally like the chrome grill. Sets the front and if you ask me. If you had an orange or yellow ST (I know they don't make a yellow) I'd say go black, but you don't, so I say stay chrome.

For the headlights, I have used the Silverstars and they were great but to me not worth the price. I now have thier Xtravision bulbs and can't really tell the difference between them and the Silverstars except the price. Anyway, if you go HID, I think you lose the ability to have "lowbeam". Some of them have what they call "lowbeam" but really all it is, is workings that move the bulb into the headlight assy for "highbeam" and out of the assy (a little bit) for "low beam. I never messed with it, but I may be wrong. HID are brighter, but I'm not sure if they have been able to make it work both ways. (high/low beam) If I'm wrong, correct me. I'd love to get a set for my wife's H3. You want some crappy headlighting, there's a vehicle for you.

Yes... Now they have the ability for hi/low on a single light bulb... They run about $120-$160 on ebay for the pair... their double filament bulbs, those are the ones that I'm planing on getting...

nobouncecap- 07-28-2009

big money for some light bulbs haha

stonemiser- 07-28-2009

I agree with nobounce. I know that they last longer since they don't have a filament and run cooler, but damn, do you need that bright of light? I would just get the Silverstar Ultras for around $50 for 2 of them and spend the extra money elsewhere.

I knew they were improving the HID's all the time and it's cool that they finally got around to a double for high/low. Just a little too much money for my taste.

mooshin- 07-28-2009

It's the cool thing to do nowadays. Haha. I have to agree. Don't toss in some ebay HID system. They are not designed for your truck and have no cutoff shield to work with your headlamp. They will likely just blind the hell out of people.
