Rain Guards
I got tired of having the rain & water from the roof in the morning run down onto my window switches, so I broke down & put on rain guards.
I was never a big fan of them but these actually look pretty good. They blend in with the windows.

Looks good. I love mine. Make it nice when it's hot to have the windows cracked and not have to worry about rain getting in. That's why I got the one for the back window also. Now that one really makes the difference to keeping it cool in the summer.

That's why I got the one for the back window also.
I got the idea from your 2007 post.
I ordered an OEM rear visor too from World Parts Express for $47.
It should be here Monday. I found out the hard way that the indents on the roof hold water overnight and in the morning when you open the rear window you soak your rear seat & if you drive fast enough, the back draft spays the water on the INSIDE of the front windshield!!!!

       Been there, done that!!!!!!!!!

My kids still get a little misted when I have it on vent after it rains. It'll still creep up the back window from the draft. It's still not as bad as the soaking the back seat took after one day a "Sudden Downpour happened while I was at work. I didn't know it had even rained since the sun came out and dried the hood and windows off. Started the ST, put the rear window down and took off. I'm hearing water running and look in the rearview mirror. There is a flood of water saoking the back seat. Luckily it was sunny and nice out the next day so I just pulled it outside the garage and put the wndows down to dry out.

Andy, did you get the "in channel" type or the ones that stick on with double-sided tape? They look good. I put them on my Crown Vic. I needed the vent back the since I smoked. Been quit 4 years now but the vent would still come in handy I think. All of these rounded roof vehicles will drip on you in a flash.

I'm interested in seeing how the vent position works out. I got a rain guard to go on the rear window. I've never been a fan of sliding back windows. All of the leaves/dirt/stuff in the bed ends up on your dash!

Man, I like those wheels!!

Here is a pic from the inside with the rear window all the way down. You can see just how far down the opening it covers.

A side shot of it. (The top of the visor is mounted around the indentation of the seal)

Her is a shot from the back with the window in vent position.

I think I'll like the rear one.

I guess I wasn't clear on my question. The door rain guards, in channel or stick on?

stonemiser- 06-24-2009

Naw, I got that. It looks to me they are the in channel type since I can see the bottom of his window channels.

First mod to my 08 ST was a set of OEM ones. My other project also has a set. Love them.

Cabrera- 06-24-2009

They are the inchannel type. Really easy to install, too literally 5 minutes. The back one was the one I really wanted. I just got confirmation that it will arrive Monday.
Stone the OEM rear visor looks like the stick on correct? What did you use to clean the window rubber to get a nice seal?

stonemiser- 06-24-2009

Hit it with a good coat of rubbing alcohol and a clean rag. I just rubbed the area it was going to contact really well. You can even get some adhesive promoter (if it's not supplied) and put some on there after hitting it with the alcohol. I didn't use the promoter and mine has been stuck there for 2 years now. A little advice, I mounted mine right at the level of the groove in the window seal. It's a good area to make sure it's mounted level, but it could have been moved down just a hair more from there. My window in the vent position is good, but would have had more coverage if I mounted it just about 1/16" lower. Your call. Where mine is at isn't bad enough to make me take it off and redo it.

Looks good, love mine, although I wish I had gotten the inside the lip ones like yours.

UPS Strikes again!

I ordered the OEM rear visor and it was shipped UPS. When I got to the UPS store & saw the box I knew it was not going to be good news.
The box looked like it had been crushed & folded. Knowing that Ford does not put peanuts in the OEM boxes I feared the worst, and guess what...I was right. Since the box top was already open I lifted the flap & lo & behold I pulled out a sealed bag with a now 2 piece visor (snapped in half). Placing a claim with UPS would have been useless as they would say "oh the box was not packaged correctly" (been through that nightmare) so I refused the package at the store.
World Parts Express is sending me out a new one once they receive the broken one.

When I got the side visors they were shipped US Mail and the box was MINT!
UPS has become too big for their briches. I will either ship USPS or if I MUST use UPS then I will let the UPS store pack it, as then they guarantee it!

stonemiser- 06-29-2009

Now that sucks!!! Typical, but sucks. Glad the company is going to stand behind it and send you a new one. Hope it gets to you better this time around.

Cabrera- 06-29-2009

If they didn't stand behind it I would just dispute the credit card charge since I refused the package.

No way I get stuck with it since THEY shipped it unprotected.
