I compared those tires to the BFG All Terrains that I wanted and it seemed like in almost every category the Generals beat the BFG's, esp in price.
If I'm only going to ride in snow (when I visit my gf in West Virginia) once/twice a year, would you recommend them for a good off and on road tire?
they have deep tread which gets rid of stuff at a pretty good rate. I have never really been "off roading" would love to but mine is just a 2wd and can't really find a place where I could test the tires but they are pretty good. As far as smooth driving, yes they are pretty good but like I said before all four tires have flared up and so there is that womp womp sound. I probably would not buy these tires again. General tire company has had a string of bad luck and near by there was a plant but it shut down because they couldn't sell enough tires to keep the plant alive.
Hey I realized when I was outside today checking the year of my tires they were not Grabblers 2 they were HTS which are a slightly different series. You might have better luck with the 2s. When I was looking for tires I wanted to get the Grabblers 2 but because of cost decided to go with the HTS.
yeah, they might be different...I really like the BFG All Terrains but the Grabbers AT2's are alot cheaper and look close to the same
Well I just bought new tires, General Grabber AT2, 265/70R16...they should be in tomorrow and hopefully I can tell ya about them on wednesday or tomorrow night. But Im taking a 10hr ride to West Virginia on thursday and expecting to hit some snow, so after that I can tell ya how they ride long distance and in snow.
a 10 hour drive will break in your tires for sure haha
yeah, 10 hrs both ways, it sucks and Im really not looking forward to it...the crazy things you do for love I guess

Tell me about it, my family and my girlfriend live in VA and I"m in Kentucky. Its a good 10 hour drive.
I've read some good things about them tires. Good luck with them. Drive safe!
Those look great on your Trac! From the weather reports you're going to find out how good they are in the snow. Good luck and be safe!
Sweet, gives a nice rugged look. Definately have to give as an updated on the ride quality and performance post trip.
Drive safe.
