According to KBB in Anchorage the most you should pay for a 2wd 2001 in Excellent shape is $6,135.
In good condition $5,660.

Here's the link

In comparison
I bought my 2002 4wd with every option and 74,000 miles in March 2009 for $8,000
Yes, in Alaska, the truck has a $1,000 greater value compared to here in Virginia.

I say pass. Keep looking for another one. It's a GREAT family vehicle, If snow is an issue, I would opt for a 4wd. These trucks work great in the snow & feel more like an SUV.
