Need a little help from my friends....
Ok, here's the deal. I live in a small town and of course, it's that time of the year again that the kids want the very thing that no store has, but is being sold on E-Bay for 4-5x's more than in stores. I'm all for making money, but I do get sick of it all around this time of year. I'm one of the few that can say honestly, I don't think I have the balls to do what is being done on E-Bay with these things.
Anyway, I digress, what I'm looking for are a pair of Zhu Zhu Hamsters. Walmart sells them for $8 each and on E-Bay they are selling for at least $35. I have a very hard time paying that much for it, even if it means my kids may go disappointed. What I'm asking my fellow members on here is, if you find them at a store (I know some on here live in big cities that the stores will get these in easier) could you please pick two up for me. I'm willing to go $20 on each one. (I know some stores are raising the prices due to the need) Just let me know. I'm just fishing here. You never know.

Any color preferred? I frequent the toy isle quite often at Walmart & Target (2 daughters). They must be hard to find if they are selling on e-bay for that much? I can check ours Fri, or this weekend.

I appriciate it Korey. No, no preference. Any will do right now. I have a Walmart not a mile from my house and I work 3-11pm during the week. I've been stopping in my Walmart every night after work (just after Midnight) for the past 2 months. Haven't found a one yet. Even when they say on a little card when they are expected in. I've actually been told by a manager that the employees have been buying them right after they are put on the shelves. Thus that's how they end up on EBay. I guess I shouldn't complain. At least I missed the Wii craze last year. :goofy:

ncranchero, the website for Walmart all say that it is available "In Store Only". The thing is, there aren't any "In Store".
Like I said before, it doesn't matter what color, name, or whatever. I'm not picky. I'd just like 2 of them. One for my son, and one for my daughter, without having to spend almost $100 for should only cost me $16 total. I'm serious when I say that if you can find 2 of them for $8 each, there's money in it for ya from me. I will make it worth your while.

this is so funny. the toy is so cheap but everybody loves them. I had no idea what they were actually until my mom wanted me to check the wal marts near me for my nieces. I was told that you had to check in the morning right as they put out the stock. but I will keep looking for ya stones.

Thanks. Yeah, amazing huh. An $8, probably piece of junk, is all the rave. What really urks me is, about 3 months ago we were in my local Walmart and my daughter saw them there. There was a sh*tload of them. She said she wanted one and I thought "ok, Christmas Gift". I could have bought 20 of them if I wanted. Now I can't find 2 of them without morgaging my fricken house. This is one of the reasons I really am starting to hate Christmas season. It's not about what Christmas stands for, it's about someone making a killing off someone needing something to make a kid's day.

I will check and let you know.
Every kid should watch the old Veggietale's Christmas original, "The Toy that Saved Christmas": "Christmas isn't about gettin' stuff". Although it hasn't worked on our kids yet either. We used to get 1 present from our parents, and were happy.

I agree Korey. My kids are actually very good about understanding Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Christ, not about getting gifts. Thay do still believe in Santa of course, and they usually get one big gift each and then some small ones. This was going to be one of the small ones, but then this has to happen. Stopped in my Walmart on the way home last night and actually looked at all the boxes they had setting out to stock. Nothing. Even stopped back in this morning after dropping the kids of at school. Nothing. The cards there now say 12/1 on them as estimated time of arrival. They did say 11/20 just on Monday.

I refuse to submit to being price gouged, the kids will survive without it.
stonemiser- 11-19-2009
I agree joecool. My kids will survive without it unless I can find it for a reasonable price. That is exactly what is happening right now, price gouging. It's absolutely ridiculous. I can honestly say, I'd have a hard time doing it. I'd rather make someone happy by supplying something they need without ripping them off. People know that some parents will do anything for their kids. So they exploit it.

I'll be dropping by Walmart this weekend.
If they have them how many do you need?
Is it just the rat or the rat with the car or ball etc?
korey08XLT- 11-20-2009
My kids are really good also. We don't go overboard, and spend 100s on them. They are still young, and at the age where $5/$10 toys still make them happy. I don't look forward to the teenage years.

   Cabrera, they are hamsters and I need two. Color doesn't matter. Hell, right now you could sell the turds (if they actually dropped them) to people for $25. It's nuts out there. There were all kinds or people at my local Walmart last night at midnight doing exactly what I was doing, looking for these things. Some people were actually looking through the box pallets for them. Damn, I'm to passive I guess, I just rotate around them to see if there are any there. :hmmm:

I feel your pain. I survived the original "Tickle Me Elmo", Furby, Pokemon Battle, Nintendo Game Cube, and many others more that I can't even recall the names. Some were hit, some didn't. My son was pretty ok with it. When finding it was too hectic, I'd tell him Santa was having a tough time making so many & that we will definitely find it by his Birthday (February).
I'll LYK if I find any.
