My 2002 4x4 start to finish
Well, we're NEVER finished so I should say "start to current"!

A bit bent up.

"New" parts welded in.

Body work & paint done.

'05 springs make the rear sit up way too high.

Installed '02 code 1 springs & 2" lowering blocks in rear & dropped the front 1"

and today. Added fogs & tow hooks.

Very nice and it looks great!!!!! Good work.

BTW, still have the '05 rear springs? Just wondering since my '03, before I put the air shocks on, the leafs would sit right on top of each other. With your '05 springs, did the next to bottom leaf sit on the bottom leaf? Just wondering why the rear sat that far up on the '05 springs. I have noticed that the '05 models around me look about the same height as mine with the TT and air shocks. I may want to find some here and change mine out. I'm into that look and would like to take some of the pressure off the air shocks to level it out.

For some reason the '01 & '02 springs are particular to those two years, having a code 1 & a code 2. The '03 thru '05's I've looked at all seem to have a code 4. Is yours a code 14 or 1144 (same thing, different year coding).

Go out and look on the bottom of the lower leaf and check the stamping number. It will probably read 4L24 BA. On my '01 & '02 it was on the leaf behind the axle, on the '05 spring it was in front of the axle.

Yeah, mine was a code 14 on the door. (2003) Which would put me into the same catagory as the '05. Just surprises me that your rearend does look lifted more than mine with no air in my shocks. :hmmm:

The main difference I noticed in the springs, visually, was the "approach" to the spring eyes. The '05 was straight and the '01-'01 had a curl to it. If I'm looking at it correctly that would make the '05 sit a bit higher. The rear shackles were the same, had the same part number on them. I read somewhere a comment that the '01-'02's had a slightly different spring geometry than the '03-up models. IDK, maybe they moved the attaching points on the frame .......

As from what I can see from the pic, that would bring the rear of the '05 up, but not that much that it should show like your pictures do. Maybe the confusion I'm having is with the front. Maybe your rearend with the '05 springs is riding normal, but the front TT is down from where mine is at stock. :hmmm: Anyway, very nice job again and thanks for rescueing a ST from death.

Nice job!

You got mad fab skills!

Was it from a light rollover? Or did something fall on it?

Denver, NC .......'bout 25 miles west of Charlotte.

It was sold as a roll over but there's no evidence of that, no road rash, no dirt/mid packed into body panels, no spilled fluids in the engine compartment. I'm more inclined to think something fell on it. But it had a broken leaf spring and a bent axle shaft............ who knows.
