Mooshin's Electronics Upgrade
I'm pretty excited this morning. I finally got sick of dealing with the factory headunit and it's lack of options, so I ordered a new JVC mobile entertainment system. I'm still looking for the right monitors for the rear headrests, and I have a rear view camera and blue tooth add on for it.

I should have it in a few days, and likely have it installed by next weekend. Updated pics to follow for those who would be interested.

Looks really nice...it will be really awesome when installed. I have the factory installed DVD/nav system and I love it. It keeps the backseat passengers quiet!

Just got my tracking number for it this morning. Now, we wait for the FEDEX truck. :)

Thats going to fit very nicely in the dash board... Does it come with GPS?

Unit just came today in the mail. If all goes well. I may have it installed by Friday night. I need to find time. It's also 118 degrees in Arizona during the day so I sometimes don't get too excited about sweating it.

sounds like a dusk project

Yeah. Still sitting in the box. Have not even attempted installation. Anybody know how to remove the dash panels of the 2nd Gen Sport Trac? I don't want to break anything or spend a lot of time experimenting.

Installation Complete~~~!!!!! :)

I will try and grab some pictures Monday after work. I have been busy most of the day. Have not had any time to snap any pictures. I still need too sit down and set up all the features on it anyway. The manual is about 90 pages. Haha.

yo man, did you happen to get a picture of your set up?

mooshin- 11-25-2009

I never bothered to take pictures of it. Didn't think anyone cared to see it based on the such low traffic and such in here.

Hi guys. Looking for some input. I went to install the rear back-up camera and had trouble locating the back-up light signal wire. I need to connect it to the input on my new headunit. I found it in the wire harness under the truck but I could not find it inside the cabin near the gear shifter. Getting too it was the major problem. The center console is a small chore to remove and has many pieces.

This might be a late thought (one I wish I had earlier today), but what about locating the circuit at the fuse panel? On the link I provided below you can see the reverse lamp fuse and circuit. So technically should I just be able to tap into one side of it so when the truck goes into reverse the circuit goes live?
