MOOG Problem Solver Rear Endlink Repair Kit...
Going to be installing these on my Rear Endlinks. Have to get the OEM pressed Bushings out first. Looking to do it this weekend. I've already replaced mine 3 years ago after having the ones that came on the ST last 3 years. Hope these will last longer. $11 for the repair kit, compared to $25 a piece for the MOOG whole assy. I'll let you all know how much work is put into it and if it is worth it.
Got them on Sat. and it only took about 1 hour. Pretty easy to do and the OEM bushings didn't give me any problems getting them out.
As for the difference in ride quality, all I can say is, BIG DIFFERENCE!!! This is the way the Endlinks should be in my opinion.
I'll try to get some pics posted here a little later. If there's any interest, I can also post a project writeup or send one to anyone who may want to do this job.
looks easy to do! how many miles you had when you replaced them the first time?
Bought the ST in 2003. Replaced the endlinks in 2006. Now did this in 2009. Both times they were shot. I would say close to +/- 40K miles.
yeah, i need to do that. I have the squeaks again, it had gotten bad so i greased everything back there to include: sway bar brackets and end links. I would love to get a book or something that shows where everything is on the ST, as far as parts go.
nobounce, let me see what I can do. What year is your ST? I have a dvd for the ST. It's for all maint. and such. It's for the year '03, but was made in '04. Shoot me an e-mail and I'll explain it more to ya.
shot you an email thanks again
Cool. No problem with the help. That's what the site is for.
e-mail sent back to ya nobounce.
Replied. Sorry for the delay, somehow "hotmail.com" got on my blocked list and it would end up in my trash folder on the main site. I've gotten that taken care of so now there shouldn't be any problem.
so i ot the kit but the bushings seem very hard to get our. it took me 30 minutes to just get one out. did you grease them up or what.
What I did was make 4 cuts in the old bushings with a chisel. (in a +) Making sure I had them cut clean through. Then hammered a large screwdriver in between the old bushing and the metal sleeve. Then just pried out the chunks, working them toward the middle. Made it alot easier than trying to get the whole bushing out. When I had them out, I ran a dremmel with a sandpaper bit around the inside (get rid of and rubber that was stuck (which wasn't much), and get rid of nicks made by the chisel), then installed the new ones.
I dont think I got your reply.
