Help me pick wheels
I'm wanting to start some "appearance mods". I'm thinking of these 2:

Gun Metal Bullet:

Pro Comp Matte Black:

Both are the same price. Both will be in stock 17" size -- but wider (can't afford tires -- don't need tires now). I think I know which ones I like best -- they just aren't the easiest to purchase.

My truck for reference:

Future appearance plans include a black Ironman grill.

huh, same as my truck but in 2wd...are you going for an offroad look or sporty look? I say the bullet rims for a more offroad look and pro comps for a more lowered look
btw, Im looking into that ironman grille too, saw it on cardomain, definitely post up pics if you do install it.

...if I get bored tonight (or at work tomorrow) I'll photoshop them on your truck.

My vote always will be for the classic look, the Bullitt's in this case, which are actually Torque Thrust D's.

Interesting. I was thinking the opposite: Bullet = Sporty -- because often seen on Mustangs. Pro Comp = Off Roadish -- because often seen in Four Wheeler magazine:)

That would be my opinion also.

Check out the wheel visualizer here.

IMHO,

I would go with the 5 Spoke

You have the same problem I had with my truck, the color. Silver like white, does not POP!
My track is white, Black wheels would make it look like old time steel rims, & chrome would not look as good as if I had a black or dark colored truck. I went with machined.

Of your 2 choices I would go with the 5 spoke they remind me of old M/Ts or American Racing wheels~

Here is a quick photoshop to help you with the decision process

Sorry, but my opinion would be neither of them. You have a silver colored ST and the Gunmetal color doesn't match anything on your vehicle. The black ones don't do anything for me either. Not a big fan of all black rims and tires. I would go with Cabrera's choice for his ST. Those rims look sweet with the silver color.

Suck-up!

AW, now come on. You know I'm right!

My rims are MB predators which were real inexpensive ($110 each free ship) from http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/home.do but they only come in 16"
The closest they have in 17" is the MB Gunner 5 for $125 (buy 4 get $50 discount)

Of the ones offered. I say the Pro Comp. But I would keep looking around at other styles.

And forget about that site some one recommended ...

...IT SUCKS! Mostly old school styles.

Gee thanks Joe.

The Bullitt's aka Torque Thrust D's as well as ME are old school.

The MB Gunners are nice. At first glance they made me think of Magnum 500's ......... yes, another old school wheel.

Black wheels just remind me of an old cop car........ Going for the blacked out look they work okay on yours but you still need to lose the big chrome grille. IMO........

As I said ....... IMO. Opinions are like something else, everybody has one.

Yeah, I know. I like Andy's wheels too. Just ribbing you!

Thanks for the photoshop. That helped a lot. For the look I'm going after, I like the black Pro Comp. One (only 1) of my local Costcos started selling them. However, I'm unsure of the longevity and care of the matte black? They are $119. They also make the same wheel in a gloss black with polished lip. I had gloss black on my Fusion, and like them. I've never like the looks of chrome. Polished would look OK, but the only other thing polished will be the "V8" emblems. I'll probably wait. Heck, I should just wait until I need tires also. 20s would look good, but I don't think I'd like the added weight. I'm even thinking of down-sizing to 16s -- since the wheels & tires are cheaper, and should be slightly lighter.

What about these:

The first ones would be less than $90 after discount. They look like a "truck" wheel, but I don't know? I'm so used to "spoke" design. The round-hole (Mickey Thompson classic) look would really be different.

Thanks for all your honest opinions.

PS. I agree with the look of polished on Cabreras. The 1st Gens had the gray trim/moldings, and black wouldn't really look right.

These are my favorite. They are a black chrome. They are pricey though.

^Cr@p -- they don't come in our bolt pattern.

Sorry for all the posts.
