Front tint and bad car accident
So went today and got my front two windows tinted to 30% got a real good deal my asst. fire chief knows the manager at the local audio shop and got it done with lifetime warranty for 45 plus tax took twenty minutes and a good 10 degrees cooler plus it holds the cold air better. Today was 116 with the heat index. DANG!!!!!!! So to the second half of the title bad car accident. I was with the rest of the firefighters and we got a call on the way my lil brother called also a fire fighter, plus an EMT calls me and doesn't say anything I tell him to hurry up got to go to a call a vehicle accident with one male trapped in vehicle he says he knows he is the one trapped Oh CRAP we haul it over there not just my brother but everyone's brother is trapped. We get there and I get to the car which was actually mine I gave to my brother since I bought my ST and he is trapped I get the door open and his first statement "Sorry about the car." I don't care about the car my niece or nephew or sister-in-law were not in there so all is good. Car is totaled other guys fault failure to yield right of way. I love his excuse I didn't see the stop sign or the other car. Well hell, also license suspended on DWI and his insurance is out son of a..... oh well EJ is safe. But no more Intrepid. So sound system is already yanked out and kit bought to put into ST tomorrow morning. Brother got home just had a couple cracked ribs and a cracked clavicle so he will be ok.

Good to hear he is going to be alright.

In Pa it's illegal to tint the front windows. I had a car when I was in Oklahoma and I had the front door windows tinted. It was reall nice at keeping the temp. down in the car. Had to get it off when I got back to Pa. Got pulled over for it.

Yeah it is illegal here if you are too dark they can stop you and check the tint with a gauge but yeah mine is legal. My bro is healing well. Thanks

my good friend is a EMT guy and he tells me all his stories, sometimes more than once  but that is great your brother is alright and he wasn't driving the ST!!

MitchieST- 06-18-2009

What are the odds of that? Wow. I'm glad your brother wasn't hurt any worse than he was. The car's replaceable, he's not.

stonemiser- 06-18-2009

In Pa, there is no tint allowed on the front doors at all. Unless it comes from the factory. Which never happens.

"which never happens"

Stones do the police know that :hmmm:

JoeCool- 06-18-2009

I just have a question... if your brother has NO license because of a DWi, why did you let him drive your car?

stonemiser- 06-19-2009

nobounce, yes, the police know that car manufactorers don't tint the front door windows. So if they see it tinted, they pull you over. No testing needed.

JoeCool, I think the other guy didn't have a license for DWI. Not the brother.

well that stinks

hawk8945- 06-23-2009

it was the other guys fault and plus he had no license or insurance. They wouldn't let my brother drive the ambulances if he didn't have license.

nobouncecap- 06-23-2009

ok now i'm getting the full picture here. so what you guys do? string the guy at fault upside so all his coins falls out of his pockets?

hawk8945- 07-01-2009

Nah let it all sort out in court. The trooper was super pissed at the guy and called him an idiot as he gave him three or four tickets. in the state of texas no insurance is an initial fee then 365 a year for three years after that for three years.

nobouncecap- 07-02-2009

i'm not to sure if giving some one a fee for not having insurance is the best idea. Normally people who do not have car insurance can not afford it so how is giving them a fee going to insure them paying it? I understand the principle but.
