Brighter Signal light
Hey guy, you know when you put on your signal light and they go brighter then dimmer then brighter again; I want them to be bright all the time how do I do this.
So you want them to stay solid?
(mine doesnt get dimmer then bright, its off then bright)
No mine work like high bean and low beam and I want them to stay on high beam.
huh?
Only time I've ever seen them go bright/dim/bright/dim is if you have your lights on also.:(
Ok the signal lights have 2 filaments the fist one only goes on when the parking lights are turned on that filament stays on all the time even when you signal. The second filament is brighter and only comes (flashes) on when the signal light are activated. I want them to be on the bright filament as parking and on and off when signaling.
Are we talking only the front, because if we are talking front and rear,I hope you've got some got a good excuse when you get hit from behind. Not sure how your brake lights will react, but can't see a good outcome. I think ncranchero and I can't really fathom a reason to do so. Sorta defeats having two filament in the bulb to start with.
Can only think of a way with a relay and moving existing wiring terminals around in the socket, negating the parking/running lite. I wouldn't though-seems problematic. To much to go wrong-at least it would for me!
Could you find a higher watt dual filament bulb? or just use a signal filament bulb?
033035, you have a Gen 2 Sport Trac don't you? (might want to put some info in a signature so we'll know what ya got :hmmm: ) Keep in mind the Gen 2's do not even have a turn signal "flasher" as such. The signals are flashed through the Smart Junction Box/GEM which basically senses current draw from/to electrical items to decide what function to perform. That's why LED's in Gen 2's cause such problems. As 600RemGuy said, wiring in relays seems to be the only way to do what you want but I have no idea what the SJB would think of the unusual current draws. if you disconnect the regular parking element you will get a bulb out message. (It tells you that stuff in your message center doesn't it? I've never even ridden in a Gen 2 Trac so I'm not familiar with the options.) If you can hit up JoeCool since he was a Ford Tech or one of the other Ford Techs maybe they can enlighten us more if what you want is possible.
Ok thanks I will look into that and talk to those guys.
Could you not use V-LEDs dual LEDs on it?
Or will that trigger the message board?
The one I'm looking at is that it stays white when on but turns yellow when blinking.
