I did find a problem with replacing to air shocks. My original shock were just that "Original" with 77k mile and they felt ok. Now that I replaced the rears to the airshocks, my front shocks feel too mushy.

Now I have to replace my front shocks!

Thanks Stone!

Well again I paid a visit to Amazon.com and ordered the front shocks. I decided to match the air shocks with Monroe Reflex shocks. Amazon had them for $37 each shipped.
Autozone only carry Gabriels &
Advance wanted $48 a piece for the same Monroes.

Ahh...more fun in the hot sun!!!

If I leave my air shocks in the box does that mean I won't need new front ones?

where did you find Monroe reflex on amazon. I could only find monroe sense-a tracs. the mounts for 2001-2005 for the shocks are the same right?

Amazon is not the place I've ever thought to look for auto parts but they surely have some deals there . I bought an Equus OBD II/CAN code scanner there a couple of years ago. Cheaper there than anywhere else I could find.

Don't mind the pix it looks like a stock photo. The Part number is what monroe http://www.monroe.com/catalog/shockselector.asp
gave me.

Those are some great deals. Amazon rocks as far as prices.

I replaced the front shocks on my ST with Monroe Reflex now that I have air shocks in the back. I just came back from a test drive and all I can say is WOW!!! No more MUSH!
The truck is responsive on turn, and feels good.
For about $125 I replaced all 4 corners on my ST and since I have air shocks I won't have to worry about a$$ drag when hauling loads.
I'm sure the Rancho RSX shock are great but they are pricey $320 for 4 and considering that going off road for me is pulling into the driveway, this works for me.

In a nutshell:

The truck feels tight.

"TOIGHT, like a Toiger!

alright guys check this out. I check my air pressure pretty religiously for my tires and my back shocks. I run the shocks at 80 psi but every two weeks it seems to drop about 10 pounds. sprayed some soap water mix on the connections and no bubbles. replaced the line and it seemed better but I could tell there was still a drop of pressure, so what you guys think?

stonemiser- 07-27-2009

nobounce, mine was the same way. Never could find the slow leak. Probably so slow that the "soap and water" check wouldn't work. What I did was got some clear silicone sealent. (for house windows) I put it around the outside of every connection. Just rubbed it around the area where the hose enters the connectors and such. I also rubbed some around the area where the connectors screw on. My "slow leak" has gotten better. I only put air in maybe once a month now. And it's only maybe 5-10psi. I haven't said anything about it yet since I thought it was only my problem and also, I wanted to make sure it was going to help. I may even go further with it all. I may take them apart and coat the inside by putting the hose and rubber O-Rings into the fitting, putting some silicone around the top of the fitting, then putting the connection back on and doing the same to the outside. Haven't decided yet. Maybe it'll help you out.
